This is how it went down during the ESA Southeastern Regional Championships held this past Saturday, Sunday and Monday at Sebastian Inlet. Set up, serve and get to witness to and witness some of the best surfers in the country.
We have so many people to thank. Marsha Abeln and her family came out and worked the tent and the crowd all day Saturday and what a life saver as we had no other volunteers for that day. The sun was out, the waves were big and the beach was packed with tons of families. When we arrived to relieve the Marsha and the gang they were out of food, drinks, DVDs, Channel Magazines and almost everything else we had brought for the day.

Day two started off with Bill Whatley and his wife Kate showing up and Bill winning the Legends Longboard division. Kate went on to compete in the finals of the Ladies division and placed second overall. Bill and Kate are not only well respected surfers in and out of the competitive arena but they are also the Christian Surfers Directors of the New Smyrna chapter. If you have any time this weekend go to New Smyrna and help them serve at the Landshark Pro which goes on this Wednesday thru Sunday. They really need your assistance.

Matt Deery and Randall Anderson made an appearance Sunday afternoon and helped provide security Sunday night. Matt also hung around Monday to share his testimony and love for others. Matt is a new CS member and works for Harley Davidson in Palm Bay. Welcome aboard Matt.
Rob Viesins worked his tail off shuttling food to the event site for the ESA staff as well as provided needed muscle after the event breaking down the scaffolding.
What was really fun was setting up the teams tents and chairs prior to their arrival on Monday so when they got there they did not have to do it. Helping carry the trophies to the beach after they announced they needed volunteers over and over and no one else showed up. Helping vendors cart their tents and product to and from the beach so they did not have to make multiple trips. The ESA announced Christian Surfers as a supporter throughout the event and gave us a BIG thank you prior to handing out the awards.
All the glory goes to God and He allowed us an opportunity to serve and that was so rewarding.
